Sanibel Symposium Code of Conduct

Because the Sanibel Symposia are interdisciplinary meetings by design, the organizers expect and require the behavior of participants and staff to meet the intent of meeting conduct expressed in the American Chemical Society and American Physical Society codes. See ACS https://www.acs.org/meetings/acs-meetings/fall-2023/about/policies.html and APS – https://www.aps.org/meetings/policies/code-conduct.cfm

In summary, Symposium participants and staff must foster an inclusive, cooperative environment in which all are welcomed, open dialogue is encouraged, and all perspectives respected. All are expected to act in a professional, responsible, and courteous manner while taking part in the Symposium activities (be they organized or informal).  Unprofessional behavior, including disparaging comments and unwelcome conduct related to sex, race, color, gender, age, disability, orientation or religion, will not be tolerated. If any participant engages in unprofessional behavior, the Symposium organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, ranging from a simple warning to the offender to expulsion from current and future Symposia.
